- Red and Green
Alive! Bright red anthuriums
- with their heart
shaped leaves. 15" x 25"
-
- Fuschia. The fuschia
is such a complex flower with its hanging stamen, brightly colored
petals and contrasting sepals. This is one of my earliest designs
and I still enjoy it. 10.5" x 20"
|
- Calla Lily. I
have always loved the close-up of flowers that Georgia O'Keefe
was known for. This calla lily was inspired by those O'Keefe
images.
- 5.5" x 8.75"
-
- Hummingbird and
Cactus. It is impossible to capture the true irridescence and
changing colors of hummingbirds. Instead of trying to reproduce
the hummingbird coloring exactly, I have tried to capture the
colors that are so striking in the hummingbirds in Arizona -
deep purple, that almost looks black, magenta and brilliant blue-green.
All set off by lighter colored under-feathers. I've combined
this spectacular bird with the bright red cactus flower.
- 16" x 17"
high.

- Ladybug. This
is a child's eye view of the
- garden - bees,
flowers and ladybugs.
- 15" x 24.5"
-
Plumeria.
Plumeria are such a common flower in Hawaii and so beautiful
and fragrant, that I just had to try and bring their essence
together in glass. 6" diameter.

- Plumeria 2, 6"
diameter.
